The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is a guaranteed future classic. One of the very last sports sedans with a V8 engine and manual gearbox, it’s an enthusiast’s dream car, and makes most rivals feel second-rate in the fun-to-drive stakes. But Cadillac is discontinuing the CT5 at the end of 2026, so time is running out to acquire one of these stellar sedans. Of course, another alternative is to find one on the used market, and a particularly special example has just popped up for auction. It’s a rare 120th Anniversary Edition, so the collector status of this one is especially attractive.

Only 120 Examples Made

For the 2023 model year, Cadillac released the CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition as a celebration of the brand’s 120th anniversary. Part of the Cadillac Collector Series, this Caddy sedan comes with the following extras:

  • VIN serialization of commemorative year (between 1902 and 2022)
  • Bespoke sill plate with Cadillac Crest from commemorative year
  • B-pillar builders’ plate with graphic and commemorative year
  • Shifter medallion (manual models only)
  • Steering wheel plate with commemorative year
  • Certificate of authenticity

This black example is a desirable six-speed manual version, and it has covered just 8,800 miles. The 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine delivers 668 horsepower, making it an absolute hoot to drive. This Black Raven example has an accident-free Carfax report and no modifications.

Cars & Bids

When new, this Blackwing cost $90,995, but the final price was $123,855, once the destination charge and almost $32k in options were added. It’s equipped with two Carbon Fiber Packages, a performance data and video recorder, the Ultraview sunroof, blue brake calipers, and black leather. Those are many desirable options crammed into this CT5-V Blackwing.

How Much Should You Pay?

As of this writing, the high bid for this peach of a Cadillac sedan sits at $85,000. That’s a good price, given that this car sold for over $123,000 originally, but we expect the high bids to climb into six-figure territory.

In other Cars & Bids listings of the Blackwing last year, two sold for over $100,000, while another 120th Anniversary Edition sold for $102,000 in 2024. There have only been 14 listings of the CT5-V Blackwing since the car arrived on the scene for the 2022 model year, so they don’t often pop up for sale.

With all this in mind—and given that this Raven Black example is a highly specified 120th Anniversary Edition—anything under $100k could be considered a good deal. A few years from now, it’s likely to be an even more desirable collector’s item.
