What you see above are a pair of the Blue Angels' F/A-18 Hornet fighter jets in front of the "Great Wall of Fire," at the 2014 Miramar Air Show. We aren't sure what the fire is for, but the effect of using it as a backdrop for the Hornets certainly works.

Taking a trip away from sunny California, we're traveling to Luzon, in the Philippines. This landing exercise was part of a PHIBLEX, an annual training exercise between the US Marines and Navy and the Armed Forces of the Philippines .
