Jay Leno working on TV return with new car show

It's no secret that we're big fans of Jay Leno's Garage around these parts. Each week on his video series, Leno gives us a look at pristine examples of classic cars that most of people can only dream about, and it looks like he might be bringing some version of that concept to television sometime soon.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Leno is nearly finished with a deal that would net him a weekly, primetime car show on CNBC. The exact format is still a mystery other than centering on Jay's automotive enthusiasm. It's hard to imagine Leno doing regular automotive stunts like you would get from Top Gear, but just extending Jay Leno's Garage into a half-hour format might work, though.

While the CNBC financial network might seem like an odd place for Leno to end up, he still has strong ties to the NBC mothership after working there for years on The Tonight Show. The Jay Leno's Garage: The Ultimate Car Week special about the awesome automotive events surrounding the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance even aired on CNBC recently, perhaps as a trial balloon of sorts.

Hopefully, the new show doesn't mean the end for his weekly internet videos, but Jay Leno's Garage isn't going anywhere yet. According to The Hollywood Reporter, there's no premiere date set for the new show or even a number of episodes decided. Let us know in Comments what you'd like to see from Leno's car show.
