A handful of Tesla Model 3 reservation holders have won "Golden Tickets" for the grand opening of the Gigafactory. People who ordered a Model 3 on day one were quietly placed into a drawing to attend the event, and the winners were notified via email. BYD and EDF are partnering to develop stationary energy storage. The Chinese automaker/battery manufacturer and French energy company will cooperate on storage programs for solar and other renewable energy projects. EDF's American branch has already taken part in a grid-scale storage project using BYD batteries in Illinois.
