Tesla seats are put to the test in a new video. Model X owners with two children show how easy it is to clean up the Ultra White seats. First, they show the dirt that accumulates when a rear-facing toddler's car seat takes up residence in the Tesla. Then they go even further, pouring coffee, ketchup, and juice onto the bright, white, vegan-friendly chairs, and trying to clean it all up. A handful of Tesla Model 3 reservation holders have won "Golden Tickets" for the grand opening of the Gigafactory. People who ordered a Model 3 on day one were quietly placed into a drawing to attend the event, and the winners were notified via email. They and their guests will be flown to Nevada on an all-expenses-paid trip for the first-phase grand opening of the new facility on July 29. Read more at Electrek.

Faraday Future will make an announcement likely regarding Formula E tomorrow, July 1, 2016. The company issued a short statement saying, "We aim to move in cleaner & more intelligent ways, no matter the road. Discover our latest undertaking during this Friday's online broadcast." It also posted an image on its Instragram account depicting the Battersea Park circuit where the London ePrix takes place. Could the startup be fielding a team in the electric racing championship? BYD and EDF are partnering to develop stationary energy storage. The Chinese automaker/battery manufacturer and French energy company will cooperate on storage programs for solar and other renewable energy projects. EDF's American branch has already taken part in a grid-scale storage project using BYD batteries in Illinois.
