Ferrari
has started work on the successor to its lovely 599 GTB Fiorano. Our spies caught the beast, codenamed the F152, during some warm-weather testing, and although these shots confirm the car's development, they don't really give any useful clues as to what it will look like. Test mules – gotta love 'em.

The bodywork you see here was stuck together from forms for the 599 GTO, and is only there to cover the new car's chassis. The new Prancing Horse is slated to break cover sporting a 700-plus-horsepower 6.3-liter V12 backed by a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Rumor has it that the new Ferrari will also carry direct injection (not surprising). Stay tuned for more, but for now, see the 599 successor mule in our attached high-res image gallery.

I think this mule is pretty close to the real thing. Ferrari tend to use old model as a base for a new model with very similar design. Remember the v8 powered 308 and successor 328 followed by 348 and F355, followed by 360 and F430, and the V12 550 and 575. I believe the next one will be 599 with different bumpers, headlights and some vents design wise.

The 288 GTO, 308, and 328 weren't mules, they were production models. The 599's predecessor, the 550/575M (which were the same car with difference in power and a few different design cues), has absolutely no resemblance to the 599.

Wait... Are you one of those silent trolls that downvoted me and numerous people who said the Ridgeline was a pointless vehicle? Seems like it...

Sorry to disappoint you, but there's no government agency that deals with people who spam the comment sections of blogs. The main reason being that, while they're being ********, they're not doing anything illegal. Also, IP bans will inevitably block out legitimate users along with the spammers. And there's no way around that as long as dynamic IP assignment is used by ISPs.

Anyone know why Autoblog is now leaving the "Back to post" link out when viewing the gallery. I know it's easy to open the galley in a new window/tab; however, I personally prefer not doing this...

They will show this at the Frankfurt motor show right? I'm really curious to see how this Ferrari will compare with the Aventador.

Better balance and steering feel, but less off the line grip, I presume. I hope Ferrari figures how to put that much power down thru only the rear wheels... the 599GTO is apparently quite a handful and a demon in the wet.

In before "it looks the same"... FYI, it's a mule. Mule = car that has body of current generation car over the underpinnings of the new car.
