Scion FR-S takes in the German countryside – Click above to watch video after the jump

We have the Scion FR-S on the brain, and it's not going away anytime soon thanks to the onslaught of new spy photos that keep rolling in. This time, however, we've got video instead of still photography courtesy of our friends at FT86club.com.

It's always great to see a car in motion, and besides, now we have an idea of what the Scion sports car's exhaust note might sound like.

We've been having some fun at Autoblog HQ debating exactly what's going on under all of that swirly camouflage. Some think we may, in fact, be looking at the Subaru version of the Toyota/Subie joint venture – that wing and those wheels say STI to us. However, others point out that the wing could easily be a shout-out to the Supras of yore. Regardless, we all like what we see and can't wait until someone pulls the wraps off this thing. Click past the jump to see the prototype in motion.

I think the spoiler looks like a mix between the last gen celica and the supra. The sides of it total look like the celica while the height and the curve at the top of supra.

Suspension looks soft and the engine tune is kindof quiet, but I'm sure they'll tweak this before production. After all, these are the first photos/videos of the car surfacing in testing. Pretty stoked for the final product! Hope the world doesn't end in 2012, or I will be really, really sad.

That's a much better video. And it reminded me how much I really want a Supra.

My girl has an '05 tC that just broke 110k Miles and the ONLY thing that has failed is the rear hatch struts. Other than that, it's a pretty solid little car, so I really don't know about that last comment Nick Allain.

dissapointment once again...toyota just cannot make a worth sports car. the exhaust is annoying has no rumble, and the car looks like a baby STI, get out of here this is a long awaited sports car turned into a normal toyota that does not achieve anything, its pointless

Another anonymous Toyota blob that they stuck a big wing on. Cool!

I have lost all interest in this car. Its built up hype, and is most likely going to cost way to much and be underpowered. Lets bring it to the Scion and sell it to women, considering 90% of Scions I see are all driven by women. Lets bring it over as a Toyota, so some Grandpa who is having his 2nd mid life crisis can buy it and paint it beige. This is like the Gen Coupe, no one gives a ****. The whole import/tuner scene is dead.

The only way this thing could rock is as followed: 2.0 turbo 300hp 6 M/t or some sort of PDK/DSG RWD/LSD Great factory audio, like the Beats set up in the 300S No body kits/ hood scoops/wings All for 20k This could be done if they dont get greedy.

Let's see.... A GTI starts at $23,700 (base, manual) that's with "only" 200hp out of a 2.0L engine, fwd, base audio system. How do you expect Toyota to get to 300hp, give you a premium audio and everything else for the price of a Corolla S? Be realistic man. The car looks great, if it comes in at a decent weight, has at least 200hp and a good feeling 6spd manual it'll work just fine.

2.0 turbo 300hp? Haha, and you where complaining that it'll cost too much with 200hp? Please bro..

Its got a Subaru drivetrain. Its not going to be hard to upgrade. But a 300hp 2.0L F4 for 20k? Keep smoking the good stuff, mate. And at least share next time.

They should just re-badge the LFA and sell it for $19 grand. That would be the easiest thing to do and about as likely as your comment.

I cannot understand all the negativity. I will take all the lightweight, RWD, sports cars I can get. Sure, it isn't as visually breathtaking as the Five Axis built Scion FR-S concept, but this is going to be an excellent car. In 20 years, these will be legend. Out of the box this will be a lightweight, balanced RWD. With help, and overnight parts from Japan, this will decimate all (F&F reference for the ricers at heart). I am excited for this. Even if it isn't perfect for you, why whine about Toyota building a RWD coupe? Seriously.

For all the griping about the wing, at least you can see out of the back of it.
