2011 Fiat 500 Mopar Edition – Click above for high-res image gallery

The Fiat 500 is one attractive little hatchback, but its voluptuous curves and diminutive size lend some to believe the little Italian is aimed squarely at the female demographic. We're not so inclined to agree, especially if the 500 proves to be as fun to drive as its primary competition, but a little aesthetic tuning never hurt.

The experts at Mopar took a page from the Mini playbook with a slew of mods that could make it more attractive to the coveted 18-25 male demographic. The tweaks start on the outside with a bevy of chrome accents including side mirrors, a snazzy exhaust tip, chrome door handles and a very cherry 500-emblazoned fuel door. Out back you can't miss the massive snowboard carrier, and the high-gloss black wheels don't do much to avert attention either. The front end stands out with a pair of offset blue stripes that stretch all the way to the boot. Step inside and you're greeted with 500-embossed seats and door-sills guards. Check out all the mods in the gallery below.

Is that the 4x4 version or did they just forget the springs?
Nice to see they "Americanized" the ride height.....
Seriously...the thing looks like it's standing on it's tip-toes, with highwaters on.

Other than that, pretty cool I guess...
My first thought also. Looks taller.

I like the 500. A lot. But aren't offset stripes traditionally on the driver side, I don't know, for putting your car where you need while racing? Does that make any sense?

Let me see if I got this right. Are they trying to catch a 18-25 yo male buyers adding chrome to it?

      Geez...
Was wondering about that. I'm 23, and the surest way to make sure I wouldn't be caught dead in a vehicle is to paste faux chrome on the door handles/mirrors/bumpers/everywhere.

I completely agree. I'm 28 and so so sick of the crap chrome accents all over the place. Give me something real. I just want a pure Italian car, not one that is Americanized / bastardized by Mopar. And, yes, I live in the states.

Please don"t. Remember the Dodge Omni GLH? The "shelby"-ized Limited Dodge Omni? Need I say more? Neat concept in theory. Flashy "500" scripts and leather seats do not a hotrod make. The 1964 Dodge Charger Concept with one of the original 426 Hemi engines. That is about to go up for auction. That last went up for auction in 2007 for $1,1 million. That is a real hot rod in every sense of the word. A real full size car, or truck. With V-8 or V-6 available power. That's what we as americans want; ask us.

Why spend money on Mopar Fiats, if everybody wants the Abarth version and its ready for production.

Look at the height of the thing, higher than Brazilian Spec 500. This what we can call "heavy duty suspension".

Horrible stripes, don't match with the black paint.

      Same ol' Chrysler.

Those are some aggressive seats, love it. What's with the ride height? Is this the 4-wheel drive version?
I agree... call me back when they have a version similar to the Abarth...

Where is the sanitary napkin dispenser?
How can you make a Fiat less reliable? Have Dodge tune it.
Call me when the Abarth arrives...
In Italy, the 500 is purchased more often by men, especially in Abarth form, than by women. Ironically though, the 500's platform cousin, the Alfa MiTo, is more popular with female owners.
bingo. that's what the male 18-25 wants. they'll go to ford if they want stickers
        • 4 Years Ago
Considering that the Nitro sells overwhelmingly to female customers, despite Chrysler's best intentions, "manning" up the 500 might have the opposite effect.

The Alfa mito is gorgous, this well it's a box. This seriously sells to guys in Italy over the Mito?? That's kinda shocking.
I don't really see the point of "manning up" what is so obviously intended to be a feminine design, either. This is never going to be a "dude's car," and since 52% of the buying population is female, why not just sell to the natural target audience?

Not everything you sell has to be a Nitro or a Charger...

I was hoping to see more power, like a sweet forced inductions system of some kind, and lower ride for the autox.
