Porsche 911 spy shots – Click above for high-res image gallery

We recently spied two next-generation Porsche 911 prototypes out testing, showing off its slightly revised shape and new exterior features. We can only imagine what sort of rigorous testing procedures are involved with creating a new 911, so it doesn't surprise us to see the the almost-naked Porsche back out on the road again.

Mum's the word on exactly what lies underneath the 911's new skin, though earlier reports have stated that the 3.6- and 3.8-liter flat-sixes will carry over unchanged, though a new electro-hydraulic steering could be on hand in an effort to improve overall efficiency. We've heard rumblings about more spacious rear seats and an electronic parking brake being fitted to the new 911, as well.

We expect Porsche to take the wraps off of the new 911 sometime early next year, possibly at March's Geneva Motor Show. Until then, get another glimpse at Porsche's pride and joy in our gallery of spy snaps below.

Look like the the Porsche I had early 90's...what's new?......not the body I guess. Just an overpriced VW !

Have to say, I'm liking the 997.2 more right now.

More spacious rear seat? Perhaps that's why it looks longer.

At first I was like: "No! Longer bad! Longer makes for a bigger car! A heavier 911!"

And then I was like: "... well it kinda looks good stretched out like that."

Plus a longer wheelbase would improve high-speed stability.

Imagine if they put all this effort into the Cayman with more power...
Don't mess with the Cayman. It's the only "affordable" model that Porsche makes, besides it is fast enough for 99.9 % of the drivers that buy Porsches.

Those are not real fake side vents. That's a decal.

Looks lower, wider, meaner. Looks better.

It is totally beyond comprehension , that you would put your "logo/web address" pight on the dam vehicles BODY in the spy photos !!! Absolutely unreal. Why not put you logo on the pavement ? We are looking at the pics to get a veiw of the car -unadulterated. I just feel that what your doing is a cheap/cheat way of operating. Youe lure us to veiw your "spy shots" , and then you screw us over with pics of the car overlayed with your logo ! its just another pathetic screwing of the average joe, except this example is just plain insulting .Put you logo NOT on the car !
