SSC recently teased us with shots of their new would-be Bugatti assassin, the Ultimate Aero II and Shelby Supercars has allowed Top Gear to provide the world a new angle with which to view their exotic road warrior.

The SSC Ultimate Aero II is designed by skilled artisan Jason Castriota, who his now putting his pen to paper for Saab. The design of the front is a beautiful mix of flowing lines with subtle, hard creases. The rear end seems much more alien, but equally stunning. The previous SSC vehicle, the Ultimate Aero TT, bested the Bugatti Veyron in the all-out speed competition at 256 miles per hour. This all-new Ultimate Aero II looks like it already beat that mark while simply posing for pictures. In fact, we wouldn't be surprised if someone handed us the keys then told us "where we're going... we don't need roads."

Our one nitpick? The eventual damage to the exhaust area. It already looks like that rear pod is sitting on the deck so it's unlikely the SSC will make it through the local Wal-Mart parking lot. Oh well, time to put the checkbook back in the drawer. We'll just wait for the Saab equivalent.

Honestly, I truly like the design of this supercar. Its about time someone starts penning designs that have more "shock value". Wether that shock is good or bad, it still works. kind of like the saying thats theres no such thing as bad publicity. If I am spending this level of stacks it better look ridiculous. Of course, there are the more subdued supercars of this world, you can use for a nice night out, but for the times you want to be in something that is just, "wow"..I would choose this. Good design. now, I await what will surely be amazing performance figures.

The tail lights look like flexing biceps of awesome.

That's not a gun turret, nor a pair of balls. It's the head of the Michelin Man hanging upside down from the bottom of the car !!

        It's definitely distinctive.

I don't think it's bad at all... it kind of has a rear gun turret look about it. Sure, it's just a pod for the exhaust and/or transaxle, but it would be a little funny if they had put a small (135mm) wheel & tire in the pod, driven by an electric motor for start/stop, regen, and low speed electric-only propulsion.

Looks surprisingly good. It's a quantum leap over the current model, nice to finally have a truly desirable American exotic. Well done SSC!

The scrotum-esque tailpipes detract from the style, imo. Whereas the rest of the car looks lean and narrow, you got this gun-turret-looking thing hanging down there. Still, the car can't be mistaken for anything else, so it's definitely unique.

Either the machine guns are are almost touching the ground or the exhaust is way too low!!! That thing is angry!

I knew there was something crazy going on back there, from the reaction video. I'm glad it's a love it or hate it type of thing. Supercars should be this way. I for one love it though. I hope the performance matches the exterior.

While this new SSC looks amazing, the one thing I kept coming back to was:

Future Saabs are going to look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

They definitely won't be going to the local Wal*Mart where they are built here in West Richland. :D

I keep looking for it out on the streets testing, but I only ever see the old one. I'll have to drive by their shop to see if they put it out.

Still undecided if I'm actually attracted to this vehicle, but this car does intrigue me. I personally can't wait to hear it.
Ya know now that I reeeaally look at it, I wonder if it is more attraction based on mystery, than attraction based on attraction.

        Ponder.

Count me in! Hopefully they include a control to change the elevation of the car for speed bumps. ... if the thing is even intended to be street legal.

I love this thing. It looks like the product of an advanced alien civilisation.
