2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee – Click above for high-res image gallery

A little lawsuit isn't going to keep Chrysler from getting the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee ready for production. The next generation family-sized Jeep was spotted on Michigan roads. Looking rather spiffy in a matte black coat, from the side the SUV is a Cherokee with just a bit of a twist. However, the revisions to the rear and front, as well as its stance, appear to give it more European feel than any Jeep has ever had. Especially from the back it is heavily scented with an X5 influence.

If it gets an old world luxury interior to match, then who knows – the 2011 Grand Cherokee could be all growed up. You can have a look at it for yourself in the gallery of photos below. Hat tip to Peter.

If it has too much Euro influence it will suck as a SUV ...just like the real Euros. Might be a good CUV (the wimpy things that look truck like and perform lke mini-vans)

Never fear...pre-productions units have already run the Rubicon.

X5? I don't know what you guys are smoking, but i want some. All i see from the back is a Dodge Journey. I'm not liking the chrome at all, makes my skin crawl, but i do like how the grill is almost vertical and stands away from the headlights.

Looks like a Journey, slightly melted...

That is a very good looking SUV, very elegant. I guess it took bankruptcy for Chrysler to start making an effort and actually design cars people will want to buy. I like it!

Well, besides the fact that this has been in the pipeline for years already, long before bankruptcy ever came into play. You can be sure that the initial design process began right around the time the current GC made it to dealers, i.e. around 2005. Best way I can prove that is that it's based on the M-B ML-Class and M-B washed their hands of Chrysler back in 2007.

I'm so amazed by people who think that automakers can just suddenly pop out a completely new vehicle in a few months.

Just seen it two-three hours ago in here Windsor (accross the river from Detroit). Looks much lower then current one. Rear end is way nicer then the current one but what got my attention was front
Could be same vehicle shown on the picture in this post

The grill looks something similar to that of those Lincoln ones, don't you think? Not passing judgement. Just saying.
There's some of a similarity in the shape of the headlights and the way they interface with the grille, yes.

      Very nice looking SUV.
Grand Cherokee is the daddy of the SUV, at least here in EU so it was about time Jeep made something that could challenge the new kids on the block.

It's clean, modern, and yet still Jeep-ish all at the same time. To top it all off, it doesn't look drastically altered from the concept.
If they keep the concept interior as well, this really should be a winner.

this looks amazing! I used to hate the boxy stying of all jeeps. But this looks European and very stylish. I have the tali light, but i wounder hoe it would look like with LED lights (just a guess). But If i was in the market for a SUV, this would deff be my choice.

I think its a very tasteful evolution of the current Grand Cherokee. Can't wait to see it on the roads

And on the first comment too. Saved me the trouble.

This new GC is very exciting!

I was floored when it was 1st introduced at how nice it looks and the additional tech that it has (adjustable air susp --- ohh my). I really want one. I'm just so disappointed that it couldn't have been realized much earlier.

it looks like a Land Rover concept, i love it!

I saw a non-camoflaged, de-badged version driving around in West Los Angeles 2+ months ago.

        Looked good.

is it just me or does anybody here seem to think that the rear lights like kinda similar to those on the back of the current Toyota Land Cruiser Amazon?

It looks very SRT-8ish too me. Which makes me hope they make another GC SRT-8, preferably with more than 10mpg this time though.

It's got a clean design and there's nothing over the top. No oversized-grilles, no oversize tailights, which is a good thing. Overall, looks pretty good.
