New ings N Spec kit for Evo has a deviated septum

Click above for a gallery of the Ings Lancer Evo X body kit
Japanese tuning house Ings has prepared a kit for the Lancer Evo X consisting of a front bumper and a Z-Power Wing. The bumper houses not only the odd-ified upper intake, it also wears new canards, brake ducts, and intercooler shrouds. The Ing site has little to say about the kit, but it looks to have been tuned on a race-tested car. If you're keen, you can order the bumper here in either fiberglass or hybrid aero, a combination of urethane and fiberglass. It won't be available for a few months, so you'll have to be happy with the pics in the gallery below for now.

Looks okay, I guess. The factory kit still looks best if a kit is a must. But I hate the way most aftermarket kits like this leave a gap in the front grille that looks bear without the emblem. I'd have to figure a way to do something about that if I ever kitted my Evo. Or better yet just stay stock with a front lip, and rear diffuser.

Looks okay? It's ugly, although it's not as hideously ugly as a Prius.

does "deviatedseptum" possibly refer to the 7 holes in the nose?

Looks quite functional. The intercooler is well sealed up against the bumper as opposed to the stock bumper where there's space for air to escape around the IC. The port on the passenger side of the IC feeds the oil cooler. Not sure that the one on the left has any purpose.
And the opening for the airbox is nice.

I agree it's functional, but they could've just enlarged the whole grill instead of making the grill awkwardly asymmetrical with that hole.

The 'asymmetrical hole' feeds the airbox, providing a significantly more direct airflow path. Perhaps even a bit of ramair. Yeah, looks goofy, but it serves a purpose.

This car look sooooo much better then the new STI.......why did Subaru choose to make it a hatch back??

People seriously still ask this question?

Well, its not perfect but its at least body color, which looks better than the cheapy-looking grey of the current Evo's grill area.

I'd much sooner a stock RS or MR than this mongrel.

It seems some people here don't realize this is a callback to the asymmetrical intake on previous EVOs.

Just because its been done before doesn't mean it needs to be redone.

Ya, like the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger...

I have a question for the designers: What the hell?
