BMW is gearing up for the online unveiling of its latest design study, the GINA Light Visionary Model. Unlike the BMW M1 Homage concept, this one's actually a runner, as evidenced by the video posted below the fold, showing the concept being driven from the studio into a car carrier then unloaded at the BMW Museum in Munich.
No details about the roadster are available from the BMW-web.tv site, but judging by the open cockpit and massive width, we're expecting something akin the M1, sans roof and sporting many of the design cues found on the homage. Check back for more when the BMW GINA Light Visionary Concept is unveiled on June 10th.

Nice wheels.
DCragtop @ Jun 5th 2008 3:35PM
Looks allot better with the cover on it.
3seriesisking @ Jun 5th 2008 5:10PM
Right, because you can tell exactly what it looks like from the photos/video provided. Try to come up with more thoughtful comments before you spit up that kind of garbage.
DCragtop @ Jun 6th 2008 7:22AM
uhh...not really, but I can tell what the car looked like from other sources dillweed. Autoblog is not the only source for auto info dumus. Swallow that.
3seriesisking @ Jun 6th 2008 12:58PM
Show me those photos from your other sources. And keep in mind that this "dillweed" posts relevant topics on the site he is posting, not posting about other sources that can't been seen by others on the site. So I'm so sorry you are upset that your comment is so lowly ranked but please don't start name call and telling me to "swallow" anything when you make a comment without anything to back it up.
DCragtop @ Jun 6th 2008 1:33PM
Find it yourself; we're not that close yet King...although after all of this spitting and swallowing..people might start talking...anywho, you might want to look under the original sketch from BMW North America labled 'California Spyder'...maybe even 'Z8'. These 'official' ...cough... sketches came out way back in 05 at the LA Auto Show. Nonetheless, who knows what the car name will eventually be. But you research and do your thing and I'll do mine. I'm sorry to have called you a name (forgive me?) and I'm sorry to have bruised your BMW loyalty. Please forgive me and I will keep in mind that Autoblog is the end all be all in automotive web-reporting.

Judging by the wheels and the general dimensions of this car, I have a feeling it's going to be quite the looker. Definitely looking forward to the unveiling.
MICKoWAR @ Jun 6th 2008 12:28AM
Well no offence, but getting any idea of how the actual car looks by the look of the wheels is like judging a book by its cover! =D Like example, total driving ebook ( www.total-driving.com ) has an average cover, but kick ass info! haha
But on that note, the wheels do look really great, and im sure the rest of the car will compliment it!

Anybody know what artist(s) did the track that played with this? Or what track it is?
That Colby Cat @ Jun 5th 2008 4:24PM
Yet another answer to a question nobody had. Thanks BMW.
Torrent @ Jun 5th 2008 4:52PM
That's why it's a Concept and not the BMW X6.
innoc3nt @ Jun 5th 2008 4:56PM
Oh yes, looking forward to this one!
aaron @ Jun 5th 2008 5:17PM
Well, the wheels look much better already than the Homage ones so that's a good start. Maybe this is a preview of perhaps (just maybe) another 8-Series?
Yeah it's a roadster, but still...maybe.
Torrent @ Jun 5th 2008 6:24PM
BIG....ASS.....WHEELBASE......
Cyx @ Jun 5th 2008 7:23PM
Wow,nice BMW supercar!
wonkydonkydotnet @ Jun 5th 2008 7:30PM
And test drivers who are native romance language-speakers will say as they step on the gas:
"VA! -Gina!"
aaaaathankyouverrrrymuch! -I'll be here all week. Try the veal :)
anuj @ Jun 5th 2008 10:33PM
doesn't this look somewhat like that M1 prototype that was posted here on engadget............here's the link for it's image http://img176.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=19524_bmwm1prototypelarge_123_469lo.jpg
atreyu.owns @ Jun 6th 2008 1:05AM
uh seriously, you actually believed that was real? that's a major photochop. notice how it looks eriely similar to the E92 M3?
John Graham @ Jun 5th 2008 11:36PM
Yeah, who was the bright one at BMW to call it the Gina? Probably the same person who decided the X6 was a good idea.
nagmashot @ Jun 6th 2008 12:19AM
Big question ..
WHY should BMW send a new concept car directly into their museum??????
