BMW releases new M Sport package for X5

BMW has unveiled its new M Sport package for all members of the X5 range, giving the SAVs a sportier look and feel inside and out. A new bodykit gives the X5 a more aggressive appearance, with updated fascias, flared fenders, black low-profile roof rails, and a choice of different 19" and 20" wheels. Inside, electrically-adjustable sport seats and an M steering wheel can be augmented with any number of customization options from BMW Individual, and the X5's already-sporting character is further enhanced by a retuned suspension that reinforces the "sport" in Sport Activity Vehicle (hey, that's what they want to call it, so who are we to argue?). A variety of available paint finishes complete the deal.
German pricing for the M Sport upgrades is €6,350 for the X5 3.0si and 3.0sd, and €4,840 for the more-powerful X5 4.8i. There's no word yet on if or when the package will be available stateside.

The front end looks like it's melting.

Yawn.
Another 'sportier' SUV... just what the world needs. How about you try something really innovative, like a hi-po oelmotoren 2-seat Z-series roadster? A ultra-lightweight 3 series?
We need another SUV option like we need $4 gasoline.

That front end styling will have to take me awhile to get used to.

Egads...what's up with the front end opening? It looks like it's got clown makeup around the edges.

M Sport package = gussied up on the outside, same underneath.

Not necessarily. Do a little homework and you will realize that more often than not, these type of packages carry more than just looks at BMW. Did you know that the first 'hot' X5 had a engine worked on by Alpina (4.6is)? The performance package for the E46 (last series) 330 was way more than cosmetic. Not to mention that even the regular sport packages at BMW are done right. The more I type the more retarded that comment becomes.

Yes, necessarily. It is the same on the inside. You have no idea what you are talking about.
It is just a bodykit, like the Aero Kit.
The 4.8is replacement will not arrive this year, or next year.
(btw I have a 2007 X5 3.0si)

I could give two sh*ts about "what you have". The fact is that BMW does not have a history of just throwing on some body kit (as your original post implied) like Benz lately. If you do not understand or appreciate that then I cannot help you.
