McLaren’s Flagship With a Japanese Twist
The McLaren 750S sits at the top of McLaren’s current range as its lightest and most powerful series-production supercar. It builds on the brand’s reputation for combining track-focused engineering with day-to-day usability, offering agility thanks to its carbon fiber Monocage II chassis and advanced suspension system.
With sharp aerodynamics, a driver-focused cabin, and a mid-mounted twin-turbo V8, the 750S is already seen as a benchmark in its class. But McLaren has created an edition that goes beyond the regular 750S, and it will be sold in only one country.
That market is Japan, which will exclusively receive a limited-edition version known as the 750S JC96. The model not only celebrates McLaren’s motorsport success in Japan but also pays tribute to the F1 GTR that won the All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) in 1996. Production is capped at 61 cars, mirroring the race number of the winning F1 GTR.

The JC96 Formula
The 750S JC96 is available as a coupe or Spider and introduces several details not seen on other models. Externally, it debuts the new Delta 15-spoke ultra-lightweight forged wheel and incorporates the MSO High Downforce Kit (HDK). This includes a reworked front bumper with a larger splitter, a raised active rear spoiler with endplates, and an under-wing panel with louvres.
Together, the package increases downforce by up to 10 percent. The exhaust exits centrally with a natural titanium finisher, and the brake calipers are finished in F1 Gold with red McLaren logos.
Paintwork is inspired by the Tiger Stripe Rocket Pink and Tarmac Grey livery worn by the original F1 GTRs that competed in the JGTC. Customers may select paint details in Memphis Red, Titanium Silver, Ice White, or Graphite Grey, or pursue a bespoke finish through McLaren Special Operations (MSO). A small number of cars – just four – will receive a hand-painted JC96 Tribute Livery across the whole body.
Inside, the Alcantara-trimmed cabin is finished in one of three color schemes, with branding stitched into the headrests and armrests. Gold-finished pedals, switchgear, and a dedication plaque reinforce the motorsport link, while brushed dark titanium brightwork surrounds the main driver interfaces. Customization continues through MSO, which offers packages such as carbon fiber details, painted keys, and Tiger Stripe interior accents.

Familiar Power, Exclusive Market
Beneath its distinctive skin, the JC96 retains the 750S’s mechanical core: a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 740 horsepower. That number is delivered through a lightweight carbon fiber structure, paired with McLaren’s Proactive Chassis Control III suspension, which keeps the JC96 aligned with the supercar’s reputation for balance and precision.
The JC96 is the first McLaren edition dedicated solely to Japan. Pricing has not been disclosed, but given its bespoke features, hand-finished details, and limited run of 61 cars, the JC96 will sit well above the standard 750S in exclusivity.
