2015 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance: Beauty in the details

As you already know, the big stars of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance are the beautiful, historic machines. But what makes those cars so amazing are the intricate details – sometimes, things you just don’t see anymore. That in mind, we decided to take a closer look at many of this year’s showcars, director of photography Drew Phillips using a bit more zoom on his long lens.

“This is probably my favorite Pebble Beach gallery ever,” Drew says. That’s because the light at this year’s concours is so much better than in years past. Normally there’s a hazy fog and overcast sky over the Pebble Beach green, especially in the morning. But this year, it’s been warm and sunny, and in direct sunlight, a car’s details really pop.

So while we encourage you to peruse our gallery of all the hot Pebble Beach cars, you’d also be wise to take a glance through our slideshow of the showcars’ excellent details. Check them all out, above.
