Nissan’s Full-Size SUV Gets Darker—and Way Pricier—for 2027

The sub-$60,000 Nissan Armada is no more. But at least the lineup is simpler than before, with new darker trim added to the mix.

New Model Year Means Another Round of Price Hikes

The Nissan Armada enters the 2027 model year with a higher price tag across the board, but the biggest change isn’t just how much each trim costs. It’s also the fact that buyers can no longer get into an Armada for under $60,000.

Nissan has tossed the entry-level SV, so now the SL is your starting point if you want a body-on-frame Armada. There’s also a new Dark Armor appearance package and some tweaks for the higher trims.

The Armada gets a higher starting price for 2027

The cheapest 2027 Armada is now the SL 4×2, starting at $64,290. That’s a $5,450 jump over last year’s base SV. Ouch.

Every returning trim gets pricier. The SL 4×2 and 4×4 are up $760, Platinum 4×4 jumps $2,300, and the PRO-4X takes a $4,690 leap. The Platinum Reserve? Now $4,040 more. Even the NISMO can’t escape, tacking on another $1,160.

Even the destination fee gets in on the action, rising from $2,245 to $2,275. That’s another $30 just for getting the SUV to your driveway.

On the bright side, the lineup is less of a maze. For 2027, you get SL, Platinum, PRO-4X, NISMO, and Platinum Reserve. Only the SL lets you pick between rear- or four-wheel drive; everything else comes with Intelligent 4WD as standard.

Meet the New Dark Armor Package

The latest addition for 2027 is the Dark Armor Package, a $1,900 option exclusive to the SL grade. Like Dark Armor packages on other Nissans, it gives the Armada a darker look without pushing buyers into the more expensive PRO-4X or NISMO models.

You get black 20-inch wheels, dark chrome trim, a blacked-out grille and lower fascia, black badges, and a Dark Armor badge for good measure. Inside, it’s all black leatherette, dark accents on the dash and steering wheel, and a panoramic moonroof thrown in. It’s all about the looks here – a subtle blackout vibe, but still built on the SL base.

A Few Equipment Updates

Nissan says the 2027 Armada is already on sale. Under the hood, you still get a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 with 425 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, or 460 horses if you spring for the NISMO. Towing still maxes out at 8,500 pounds if you spec it right.

The other big update: ProPILOT Assist 2.1 is now standard on the Platinum Reserve. That’s Nissan’s hands-free highway driving tech, using cameras, radar, and navigation to help out on compatible roads.

Otherwise, it’s business as usual. The PRO-4X keeps its locking rear diff, adaptive air suspension, all-terrain tires, eight drive modes, and metal skid plate. NISMO? Still gets the sportier suspension, steering, brakes, and exhaust.
