The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has launched a probe into
potential safety hazards in Chrsyler/Dodge minivans, Mercedes sedans and the Hyundai Sonata. NHTSA probes are the first
step in determining if a recall is necessary.

The NHTSA has received five complaints regarding a failure of the front air bag crash sensor in 2005 model
Grand Caravan and Town & Country minivans and involves over 400,000 vehicles. The probes involving Mercedes
and Hyundai are quite a bit smaller and shine the spotlight on 2000-2001 models of the S-Class regarding
the instrument panel failing to light and on the 2002-2003 Hundai Sonata it seems there have been complaints of
tires deflating at highway speed. The probes cover 72,000 and 93,000 vehicles respectively.
