New Esprit to be built in Malaysia

With its Hethel plant at capacity, Lotus is planning on building its next Esprit in Malaysia. Malaysia is the home of Lotus parent company Proton, so there may be production capacity available there. Additionally, Lotus is making a long-term choice not to invest in increasing the capacity at Hethel, which is an option. The new Esprit is scheduled to begin production in 2007.
