It’s all about NASCAR‘s
version of the Super Bowl this weekend, the 48th running of the Daytona 500. We’ve been through a week of practice,
qualifying, and qualifying races, none of which give us much of a clue as to who is likely to win the restrictor-plate
crapshoot on Sunday.
This year’s running of the 500 features a record purse of more than $18 million, with
the winner taking home a minimum of $1.4 million. North American television coverage starts at 1:30 pm ET on NBC,
preceded by wall-to-wall pre-race coverage on SPEED Channel.

For right turn fans in North America, last
week’s A1GP race from Sentul, Indonesia is televised Saturday at 6pm ET, and again Sunday at 5:30pm
ET, on OLN.
