Champ Car:
It was a RuSport weekend, with Justin Wilson (pictured) and A.J. Allmendinger finishing 1-2 in Mexico City. His win
in the final race of the season vaulted Wilson to second in the 2005 championship, behind Sebastien Bourdais and ahead
of Oriol Servia. Much more info here.
Rolex Sports Car Series: The final race of the 2005 series in Mexico City saw Wayne Taylor and Max
Angelelli wrap up the Daytona Prototype class championship, finishing second in their Suntrust Pontiac-Riley behind
first-time winners Memo Gidley and Michael McDowell in the Finaly Motorsports BMW-Riley. Lots more after the jump.
Pontiac had a fine day in the GT class as well, with Jan Magnussen and Paul Edwards winning in their TRG GTO.R after
starting at the back of the field. The sister car of Andy Lally and Marc Bunting finished fourth, clinching the team
championship for TRG and narrowly missing the series championship after a NASCAR-style fender-banging battle with the
Synergy Racing Porsche saw the GTO.R punted into the weeds on the last lap, handing the driver?s championship to
Synergy Racing?s Craig Stanton. Details here.
NASCAR: It was a Roush Racing 1-2-3 at Texas on Sunday, with Carl Edwards making it two in a row,
ahead of Mark Martin and Matt Kenseth. The series moves to the flat, slippery Phoenix International Raceway for the
second to last race of the season next weekend, with the consistent pair of Stewart and Johnson still atop the
championship leader board. Stewart now leads by 38 points over Johnson, and 77 points over Edwards. (The maximum points
that can be won or lost in a race is 156.) More info here.
MotoGP: Marco Melandri followed up his first MotoGP win with another at Valencia, Spain, this weekend. The
Honda rider finished only .097 seconds ahead of Nicky Hayden, also on a Honda. 2005 champion Valentino Rossi charged
from a 15th-place start to finish 3rd. Full results

A1GP: France made it 6 out of 8, winning at the Eastern Creek circuit in Australia, ahead of Great Britain and
Switzerland. Teams from the Netherlands, Malaysia, Australia, Portugal, New Zealand, Brazil and the USA rounded out the
top 10 in Sunday?s feature race. More
here.
NHRA: The Auto Club of Southern California NHRA finals capped the POWERade Drag Racing Series this
weekend at fabled Pomona Raceway, with Tony Schumacher winning Top Fuel to finish off his championship season. Gary
Scelzi clinched the Funny Car championship in cliffhanger fashion, after he and runner-up Ron Capps were both
eliminated in the second round, leaving the door open for John Force. Force couldn?t get it done, and Scelzi ended the
year only 8 points ahead of Capps and 32 ahead of Force. Complete results here.
