Mitsubishi rolling out six new models by '08

I believe Mitsubishi can turn it around, or perhaps I just hope it can because it would be a shame to lose this relatively small but influential Japanese carmaker. David Schembri, Mitsu’s executive VP of sales and marketing, told Edmunds that the company has a plan in place to help right the ship that includes introducing six new models by 2008. It started with the introduction of the all-new 2006 Eclipse and will continue this fall when the Dodge Dakota-based Raider pickup debuts. Next comes the Eclipse Spider in spring and a larger, more powerful Outlander with a third-row seat by fall. Finally the Lancer line will be redesigned in 2007, which will precede the Lancer Evo X, a car that Schembri describes as “revolutionary”. A revolution is exactly what Mitsubishi needs right now to improve its outlook.
