MSN.com does a terrific job covering cars and an entire feature story on the first Ford GT to hit the streets seemed
to be a dream come true for auto geeks like us. But of course this isn’t exactly unbiased journalism. The person who
won the right to get the first GT is Microsoft executive John Shirley. Let’s give Mr. Shirley some respect though
because he won the right at an auction that raised $557,500 for various charities. As much as people rail against
Microsoft at least Gates and others give to charity. Where was I…oh yeah the Ford GT. Shirley is a race enthusiast but
didn’t say if he’d take his new baby to the track, but he’d be nuts not to. We’ll see if the now proven
halo effect boosts sales of Ford Taurus’ in the state of
Washington.
