Ford may reintroduce the Bronco

Despite OJ Simpson and tipsy mini-SUVs, the Bronco nameplate remains proud for those that choose to remember the original version (the larger 2nd-generation model was a worth competitor to the K5 Blazer, as well). Its name harkens back to the time when SUVs actually went off-road, which is why so many were delighted with the concept that Ford showed off at the 2004 NAIAS; it was a compact SUV that took the “soft” out of “softroader”. Ford apparently will throw this heritage away and introduce a compact crossover based on the Fiesta platform that will wear the Bronco name. Um, yea – The Juice would not be down with this. I don’t know who’s heading up the Name Reuse Department at Ford, but this and theFairlane prove that they need to make some immediate changes.
