Ford Cuts 1000 jobs

In the best double speak we’ve seen this week Ford will cut an estimated
1,000 white-collar jobs through early retirement and buyout packages. Where’s the double talk you ask? Why right here:
“We may have to result to involuntary separations.” That’s from a Ford exec through an e-mail the
Detroit News “obtained.” Is that what
they call firing people these days? Involuntary separations? Nice. Good news for Ford did come last month from their
car sales. While overall sales were down, car sales were up six percent based on the strong performance of the Ford
Five Hundred, you heard us, Freestyle and Mercury Montego. Of course the 24 percent dip from Lincoln sure didn’t help
things. But its still a promising trend for an otherwise slow month.
