The United Arab Emirates issued a litany of terrorism-related charges against a man earlier this week. Mohammed Al-Habashi Al-Hashemi faces seven charges from the UAE’s Federal Supreme Court, including a plot to attack at the 2014 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, an unnamed US military base, an IKEA store, and of supporting Al-Qaeda and ISIS.

The man facing the charges filed earlier this week, Mohammed Al-Habashi Al-Hashemi, has been in a UAE prison since just a few days before the November 2014 race. Autoweek reports Al-Hashemi’s attack on the Yas Marina race would come in the form of a bombing, although it’s not clear if a similar tactic would be used against his other targets. His connection with Al-Qaeda and ISIS, meanwhile, came in the form of attempted monetary donations.

While Al-Hashemi has denied the charges, this isn’t his first connection to terrorism – his wife was executed after attacking and killing an American kindergarten teacher in an Abu Dhabi mall last year. The case has been adjourned until January 18.
