If you like Old Time Rock ‘n’ Roll and the wind flowing through your hair in a classic Ferrari-built sports car, this Bring a Trailer offering might be perfect for your needs.
A former Bob Seger Dino 246 GTS is not an everyday sight
This 1973 Dino 246 GTS was reportedly owned by rock artist Bob Seger until 1998, giving celebrity provenance to one of the most svelte Italian ponies associated with Ferrari.
Named after Enzo Ferrari’s late son, the Dino 246 GTS was powered by a 2.4-liter V6 engine with triple Weber carburetors that put out 192 hp through a 5-speed manual transmission. At just 2,381 lbs, this little devil screamed its way to 7000 rpm and spelled FUN in all caps down any road. About 2,900 examples of this generation Dino were produced through July 1974.

This Dino underwent some less-than-desirable modifications in its life
This particular Dino was originally painted in Verde Scuro and was picked up in Italy by its first owner before being shipped over to the US. It was sold to its second owner in 1988 who unfortunately repainted it in your run-of-the-mill Ferrari red. It was reportedly one of only seven painted in Verde Scuro, which would more than likely have added a zero or two to its final price tag.
The car was later acquired by the Detroit-born musician Bob Seger sometime after that before he too parted with it in 1998. The Dino was once again repainted in that same red during its refurbishment from 2021 to 2023.

The interior retains its Sabbia, or beige, leather so at least part of the original car’s specifications remains. The car shows 65,000 miles on the odometer and its carburetors have recently been overhauled in preparation for sale.
This Dino rides on 14″ Cromodora five-lug alloy wheels with fixed-back seats inside, a MOMO steering wheel, a Becker radio, and Borletti air conditioning.
The auction ends on November 25 with 16 bids placed at the time of writing this.

Final thoughts
A classic Dino sports car with a manual transmission is always a winning choice. The added allure of this particular model being owned by a renowned classic rock legend makes it even more irresistible.
One change we’d like to see from its future owner is a return to the rare, and frankly sexier, Verde Scuro paint job. Is celebrity ownership more impetus for you to buy a specific car, or does that do nothing for you?
