Huh? Cocaine use is rampant among Formula One drivers? At least
that is the charge of a former Ferrari team doctor, adding that as much as a third of the current grid is using the
drug. Apparently, cocaine will boost a driver’s reaction time, and give him that feeling of invincibility a racer needs
so much for about 90 minutes. So let me understand this properly, drivers who work out so intently to condition their
bodies to cope and excel in the extreme conditions and forces that come about inside the cockpit of a F1 racer are
using cocaine as a performance booster? Maybe if this was the 1970’s when there were some ‘wilder’ figures in the
sport, but today this hardly seems to make sense. If the drivers thought there was some advantage to taking cocaine
prior to a race, would all of them being doing it? Not just a third of the grid…
What? F1 drivers using cocaine?
