Apparently the tax benefits for owning a hybrid vehicle are evolving along with the vehicles themselves. Staff columnist Gary Richards of the Mercury News tries to answer such related questions as why Civic hybrids and the Prius are not on the IRS website (“Credits will be available to just the first 60,000 hybrids sold….”) to commiserating with hybrid drivers who receive, well… interesting hand gestures from non-hybrid drivers while driving in the car-pool lane.
