Somewhere between a little plastic tool box and a full-size rolling chest, there’s room for something you can actually carry around without giving up much storage. Maybe you’ve got a second set of tools for working on cars in the driveway, or you want to stop leaving sockets and wrenches scattered across the workbench. A smaller three-drawer tool box makes sense for that. You can keep your everyday tools together, close it up when you’re finished, and move the whole thing to wherever the next job happens.

For a limited time, the Sugift 3-Drawer Tool Box is on sale at JCPenney for $69, down from $138. Half off certainly isn’t bad for an all-metal tool box, especially one with a lock and two keys included. It’s 20.5 inches long, 8.5 inches deep, and 12 inches tall, so it should fit on most workbenches without taking over the whole surface. You could also keep it in the trunk for roadside repairs or bring it along when you’re helping someone work on their car.

Pros

  • Three drawers help separate sockets, wrenches, and small tools
  • Full-width top compartment adds room for bulkier items
  • Each drawer supports up to 22 pounds
  • Carrying handle makes it easier to take tools between projects

Cons

  • Shallow 1.5-inch drawers won’t fit many larger power tools
  • Can get heavy to carry once fully loaded
  • Limited storage compared with a rolling tool chest

The three drawers are each 18.5 inches wide and 1.5 inches tall. That’s fine for sockets, combination wrenches, extensions, and smaller hand tools, but you’ll probably want to put anything bulky in the compartment under the lid. Each drawer is rated for 22 pounds, and the red metal housing has a powder-coated finish.

There’s a handle on top for carrying it around, although it’ll get pretty heavy if you fill all three drawers with steel tools. For $69, it’s a solid setup if you need more organization but don’t have the room, budget, or need for a rolling cabinet.

Deals We’re Loving
