A large portable power station can be a huge upgrade for camping, emergency prep, garage projects, and temporary work setups where outlets are limited. It can keep lights, phones, laptops, tools, small appliances, fridges, and other gear running without the noise, fumes, or fuel needs of a gas generator. That makes it useful for working in the garage, car camping, backyard projects, shed work, driveway repairs, and power outages. It’s also a strong option if you’re setting up a temporary workstation in the garage or outside and don’t want to run extension cords all over the place.
With this clearance sale we found at Walmart, you can get the SolarPlay 3600W Portable Power Station on sale for just $998, which is a massive 71% discount on a high-capacity portable solar generator. It has a 3,840Wh battery, 3,600W continuous pure sine wave AC output, and a 6,600W peak output. Its high output means it can run higher-demand appliances and tools, including refrigerators, microwaves, dryers, and power tools, while also supporting smaller devices like phones, laptops, lights, and camping gear. Keep in mind that this price does not include the $140 shipping fee, but even with that, you’re coming out way ahead.
71% OffThe biggest difference between this and a smaller power station is how much more serious the output and capacity are. Something like a compact 300W unit is great for phones, laptops, lights, and small electronics, but this 3,600W model is built for bigger backup and work needs. It has 15 output ports, including five AC outlets, two USB-A ports, four USB-C ports, two DC5521 ports, one car port, and one XT60 port. It can recharge from a standard wall outlet in about 2.5 hours and supports up to 2,000W solar charging through the XT60 port, though solar panels are sold separately. The built-in UPS mode can also switch to battery power during outages, which is useful for keeping critical devices running.
Weighing in at 94 pounds, it’s not something you’ll casually carry around like a small power bank, but for camping, emergencies, RV use, construction work, and heavier garage or yard projects, it offers a lot of backup power for the price.
One shopper said, “It powers everything I need at camp, from lights and cooking gear to my mini fridge and Starlink, making camping far more comfortable and convenient. The charging speed is impressively fast, and for a unit this powerful, it’s surprisingly portable.”
“Excellent portable power solution for camping, emergencies, or on-site work,” said a second happy buyer. “The battery management is solid, with good recharging options and a responsive display.”
