Next to a drill, an impact driver is one of the most important power tools in your collection. Whether you’re building a deck and need to drive tons of long wood screws in a hurry or you’re trying to remove stubborn fasteners that just won’t budge when you use slightly less powerful tools, you will find yourself reaching for an impact driver time and time again. For this reason, you should seriously consider splurging on one from a brand that you can trust.
Normally, that might mean buying a DeWalt, Milwaukee, or Craftsman impact driver over the alternatives, but Metabo HPT is another name you should know. The Metabo HPT 18V Cordless Impact Driver Kit would be a worthwhile addition to your power tool lineup, and if you purchase one now, you can score 45% off its regular retail price at Amazon. It normally costs $179, but it’s currently on sale for only $99.
Audience FavoritePros
- Compact size helps it fit into tight spaces
- Powerful brushless motor delivers up to 1,549 inch-pounds of torque and 3,100 RPM
- Long-lasting batteries, charger, and tool bag included
Cons
- Limited speed control options
- Less torque than more advanced Metabo HPT impact drivers
- Shorter warranty window than tools from other brands
This cordless impact driver is relatively small — it’s only about 4.7 inches long and 8.7 inches tall, while weighing just 2 pounds without a battery — but it’s still strong enough to help you tackle most heavy-duty driving tasks. Its brushless motor delivers up to 1,549 inch-pounds of torque and reaches a maximum rotational speed of 3,100 RPM. Those are both solid numbers considering the tool’s size.
You will also receive so much more than just an impact driver when you buy this kit. It includes a pair of 18V 2Ah batteries, each equipped with a fuel gauge for your convenience. A single Metabo 2Ah battery sells for $95 on Amazon at the moment, highlighting just how good a deal you’ll get with this kit, which includes two batteries. And Metabo didn’t stop there, either, as you’ll also land a charger and a tool bag, further sweetening this deal.
“Metabo always provides professional performance at an affordable price,” one reviewer wrote.
“This impact driver is compact and has the power to complete any task,” another reviewer remarked. “I own DeWalt and Ryobi impact drivers, and the Metabo compares favorably to a DeWalt and is better than a Ryobi.”
