Walmart carries tons of DeWalt power tools and routinely offers them at deeply discounted prices. But it hasn’t always kept many of DeWalt’s popular mechanics tool sets in stock. Aside from a few select sets, such as the DeWalt 100-Piece Mechanics Tool Set, the DeWalt 182-Piece Mechanics Tool Set, and the DeWalt 242-Piece Mechanics Tool Set, the retailer has a relatively limited supply of DeWalt tool sets, which rarely go on sale — until now.
We just found the DeWalt 142-Piece Mechanics Tool Set on sale at Walmart for 30% off. This set usually retails for $156, but it’s marked down to just $109. Coincidentally, it’s the same price you’ll pay for it at Amazon at the moment.
At the center of this DeWalt mechanics tool set is a pair of high-quality 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch ratchets. Their heads are 20% thinner than other DeWalt ratchets, such as the DeWalt Drive Quick-Release 1/4-Inch Ratchet, and they have 72-tooth designs and 5-degree arc swings, making them extremely useful when you’re working in tight spaces.
This comprehensive mechanics tool set also features a robust collection of chrome-vanadium steel sockets in a range of sizes, including 28 1/4-inch and 29 3/8-inch drive sockets. They boast DeWalt’s proprietary DirectTorque technology, giving you a much better grip on fasteners while simultaneously minimizing rounding.
Elsewhere, this mechanics tool set provides 10 combination wrenches, 22 screwdriving bits with a spinner handle, 28 hex keys, and an assortment of other accessories. Everything comes packaged in a durable, long-lasting case to keep all the tools organized.
“It’s an excellent quality kit,” one reviewer wrote on DeWalt’s website. “It goes everywhere with me. It has everything I need, whether I’m working on vehicles or other small engines.”
“It’s an awesome kit,” another reviewer remarked. “Such great quality. I’m never disappointed with DeWalt’s tool sets.”
