Crossover Is One Of Cadillac’s Lower-Priced Models
The Cadillac XT5 has been on sale for almost a decade without a redesign, and while an updated version is still not here, Cadillac is at least offering reasonable lease rates. In September, returning General Motors lessees can lease a 2025 Cadillac XT5 for as little as $489 a month (before taxes and fees). That rate applies to the base front-wheel drive Luxury model, and includes a $4,569 down payment and 36-month term, with an allowance of 30,000 miles over that time span.

Other lease deals on the XT5 are a bit thin this month. The only other piece of news is a $2,000 cash incentive for returning GM lessees that can be applied toward a 2025 XT5 lease. That could be helpful if you want the fancier Premium Luxury or Sport trim levels, or all-wheel drive. Either way, it’s important to note that all lease rates listed by automakers do not include taxes or any other fees that leasing a given vehicle may incur, and offers may vary by region. We recommend entering your zip code into the current offers page on Cadillac’s website to estimate a payment most accurately.
More On The 2025 Cadillac XT5

The XT5 joined Cadillac’s lineup for the 2017 model year, replacing the SRX, and received a mild refresh for the 2020 model year. A 2.0-liter turbo-four is standard on Luxury and Premium Luxury models, producing 235 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. A naturally-aspirated 3.6-liter V6 is optional on Premium Luxury models and standard on the Sport grade, with 310 hp and 271 lb-ft. All models use nine-speed automatic transmissions, with front-wheel drive standard on all but the Sport model. Adaptive damping is also available on Premium Luxury and Sport models.
For a moment, it looked like Cadillac might discontinue the XT5. Still, the automaker has told the United Auto Workers that it plans to keep the current version in production at the Spring Hill Assembly plant in Tennessee (which once built Saturn cars) into the 2026 calendar year, with a next-generation XT5 starting production later in the year as a 2027 model. This will likely be the same updated model Cadillac has already shown for the Chinese market.
Final Thoughts
If Cadillac does bring the same updated XT5 to the U.S., it won’t be entirely new. It will use the same platform as the outgoing version, with styling more like that of Cadillac’s other SUVs, and possibly the mild-hybrid powertrain introduced for the Chinese market. That powertrain’s 235 hp isn’t exactly an improvement over the current turbo-four, but it does offer 288 lb-ft of torque and, potentially, better fuel economy.
All of this means that, even with an updated model on the way, it might still be worth leasing a 2025 Cadillac XT5 today—but only if you’re committed to that brand. The aged XT5 doesn’t compare well to fresher compact luxury crossovers like the Audi Q5, BMW X3, or Lexus NX. Still, within Cadillac’s lineup, it remains one of the least-expensive gasoline options available, thanks to the impending demise of the smaller XT4.
