Overview
The 2027 Volvo EX60 is an electric compact luxury SUV and sits in the middle of Volvo’s lineup as the electric equivalent to the gas and hybrid XC60. It sits on Volvo’s next-gen SPA3 architecture and launches with state-of-the-art 800V powertrains, a NACS charging port for Tesla Supercharger access, and a claimed range of up to 400 miles. RWD is standard on the base 369-horsepower P6, and AWD is optional. The 503-hp P10 and (upcoming) 670-hp P12 are AWD only. The refined, upscale new EX60 is ideal for eco-conscious families looking for a modern luxury crossover that balances performance, comfort, practicality, and range.

What’s New for 2027
The 2027 EX60 is all-new, as the first Volvo built on the brand’s next-gen architecture using 800V electrics, cell-to-cell body integration that makes the battery part of the structure, and megacasting, which forms large body parts from single aluminum pieces. Volvo’s HuginCore computing platform with Google Gemini debuts on the EX60, enabling over-the-air updates and a conversational AI assistant. World-first multi-adaptive front seatbelts are fitted to the EX60, and it’s the first Volvo with a NACS port for access to Tesla’s Supercharger network.

Volvo
Exterior
The EX60 is an evolution of the brand’s Scandinavian design language, and it looks a lot like a modernized and completely smoothed-off XC60, with flush glazing, frameless doors, a tapered rear, a gently sloping roof, a flat underbody, and active grille shutters to realize a 0.26 drag coefficient. Newly interpreted Thor’s Hammer LED DRLs and headlights are upgraded to high-definition pixel tech on the Ultra, using 25,000 light sources for precise beam control. Dark and Bright exterior themes and various wheel designs from 20 to 22 inches are available.

Interior
The minimalist Scandinavian interior has been pared down even more for the EX60, yet it feels premium rather than spartan, with an airy feel and high-quality materials everywhere. A Google-powered 15.04-inch OLED center touchscreen incorporates wireless Apple CarPlay, and you get a Bose audio system (Bowers & Wilkins on the Ultra).
Integrated 2nd-row booster cushions are optional (standard on the Ultra), and all grades get ash wood trim, a full driver-assistance suite, an 11.4-inch digital gauge cluster, and a surround-view camera. Interior color schemes include Rye, Cardamon, and Dawn. The 40/20/40-split rear seat is quite roomy, and there is versatile under-floor storage too.

2027 Volvo EX60 Specs Overview
The three 800V powertrains all have an NACS port and 350- 400-kW fast charging, but differ in power, battery size, and range.

Range and Efficiency (MPGe / MPG / Electric Range)
Volvo provides range estimates using EPA procedures, but no official EPA figures were available at the time of writing. According to Volvo, the P6’s estimated range on 20-inch wheels reaches 310 miles, the P10 AWD reaches up to 320 miles, and the P12 AWD flagship with the biggest battery reaches up to 400 miles.
Charging
The 800V electric architecture enables 350-kW DC fast charging on the P6, filling the battery from 10-80% in 16 minutes; 400-kW charging on the P10 and P12 adds up to 173 miles in ten minutes. Being the first Volvo with an NACS charging port, the EX60 can be charged at any Tesla Supercharger, and also comes with a 19.2-kW onboard charger. AI-driven battery preconditioning optimizes charging, and the car is also bidirectional charge-ready.
Performance and 0-60 MPH
The 369-hp P6 is claimed to accelerate to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds with RWD. The 503-hp AWD P10 does it in 4.4 seconds, and the upcoming 670-hp P12 AWD dispatches the sprint in 3.8 seconds. The one-pedal driving mode’s strength can be adjusted, and it can bring the car to a complete stop.

Volvo

Volvo
Ground Clearance
Ground clearance varies between 7.0 and 7.6 inches, depending on the configuration. This is sufficient for all types of city driving, winter driving in fairly deep snow, and even rough roads and easy trails, but no more. The EX60 is primarily a crossover for paved roads.
Warranty
The EX60’s warranty coverage is expected to match that of other current electric Volvos:
| Coverage | Term |
| New Vehicle Limited Warranty | 4 years / 50,000 miles |
| Powertrain | 4 years / 50,000 miles |
| High-voltage battery | 8 years / 100,000 miles |
| Complimentary maintenance | 3 years / 36,000 miles |
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Up to 400 miles of estimated range
- Very fast 800-volt charging and native NACS port
- Strong powertrain lineup up to 670 hp
- 4,500-lb towing and 64.3 cu ft of cargo
- Advanced safety tech
Cons:
- EPA figures not yet finalized
- Range figures are preliminary estimates

Verdict
The Volvo EX60 is one of the most complete electric SUVs in the compact premium class on the strength of its breadth of ability. It offers rapid charging at up to 400 kW, a range of up to 400 miles, an NACS charging port, and a 4,500-pound towing capacity. The Google-based cabin is solid and tech-savvy, and the flexible cabin and under-floor storage provide real versatility. The P10 AWD is the sweet spot if the budget stretches to $67K, but the P6 is a perfectly competent baseliner. The EX60 is the perfect Volvo for eco-conscious families who want a well-rounded luxury electric SUV.
