Overview
The 2025 Porsche Taycan is an electric midsize sports sedan offered in seven trims ranging from the 402-hp base model to the 1,019-hp Turbo GT, but we review the top-dog Turbo models separately. Built on an 800-volt electrical architecture, it supports DC fast charging at up to 320 kW, allowing a 10-80% charge in about 18 minutes. The base model uses rear-wheel drive, while the remaining trims rely on dual-motor all-wheel drive. This electric sports sedan competes with the Tesla Model S, Audi e-tron GT, and Lucid Air.
What’s New for 2025
The 2025 Taycan receives a comprehensive update, with revised front and rear styling. Interior updates include leather-free Race-Tex upholstery and Pepita fabric with wool content, along with several small improvements to technology and cabin features.
Power increases across the lineup, with the base model rising to 402 hp and the new Turbo GT reaching 1,019 hp. Driving range improves by roughly 35% through larger battery packs, improved software management, and upgraded thermal systems. Maximum charging speed climbs to 320 kW. Adaptive air suspension now comes standard on every model.
Exterior
The Porsche Taycan has a low, sleek silhouette that remains instantly recognizable as a Porsche. Flush door handles, a full-width rear light bar, and optional matrix LED headlights shape the design. Porsche’s extensive customization program includes dozens of paint colors as well as paint-to-sample choices. Wheel sizes begin at 19 inches and extend to 21 inches on Turbo variants.

Interior
The cockpit centers on a curved 16.8-inch digital instrument cluster paired with a 10.9-inch central touchscreen and 8.4-inch HVAC screen. Buyers can also specify a 10.9-inch passenger-side display. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and wireless charging come standard. Fourteen-way power sport seats with heating are included, while ventilation and massage functions can be specified.Â
Upholstery choices include leather, Race-Tex microfiber, or a Pepita wool blend. Rear seating accommodates two adults, though the Turbo GT Weissach deletes the rear seats entirely. Cargo capacity totals 12.9-14.3 cubic feet in the rear trunk plus 2.9 cubic feet in the front storage compartment.
