Overview
The 2027 Porsche Cayenne is the midsize luxury performance SUV that still defines segment standards for dynamic ability, even in its 9th model year, turning from a comfortable cruiser into an engaging performer in a blink. It’s ideal for enthusiasts looking for SUV practicality. The range kicks off with a 348-hp V6, but outputs soar to 650 hp for the Turbo GT (reviewed separately) and 729 hp for the Turbo E-Hybrid trims. Gas and PHEV powertrains are available, and both SUV and coupe-SUV body styles. Standard AWD and a premium cabin round off an impressive, if expensive, option in this class.

What’s New for 2027
After last year’s technology updates that included a revised Porsche Communication Management system, a new Porsche App Center, and other multimedia upgrades, the 2027 Cayenne is not expected to receive any changes.

Porsche

Exterior
The Cayenne is instantly recognizable as a Porsche, with typical 4-element horizontal Matrix Design LED headlights, muscular flanks, and a big grille. Both SUV and Coupe body styles are on offer, though the latter suffers in terms of cargo space. Wheels are 20 inches on base trims, growing to 22s at the top end. Available appearance packages can sportify and/or black out the look.

Interior
In-cabin tech was recently upgraded and is up to date, with a 12.6-inch digital gauge cluster and a 12.3-inch touchscreen, while a 10.9-inch passenger display is optional. Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, navigation, a wireless charging pad, 10-speaker audio, dual-zone climate control, and a heated steering wheel and front seats. Many upgrades, such as ventilated and massaging seats, 4-zone climate control, and premium audio, are available. The interior is spacious in both rows – even the Coupe – but cargo space is unimpressive in this segment, especially in the hybrids.

Price Range and Best Value Trim
The 2027 Porsche Cayenne’s price still starts at just below $90K, just like last year.
| Trim Level | Price |
| Base trim: Cayenne | $89,900 |
| Top trim: Turbo GT | $214,800 |
| Best value trim: Cayenne S | $108,300 |
The 468-hp Cayenne S represents the sweet spot at $108K, with a V8 soundtrack and far better performance than the base car, but without the prohibitive price tag of the top models.

Ground Clearance
The Cayenne’s 8.3 inches of ground clearance is quite impressive, and it handles bad weather and snow driving well, with air suspension that can increase that number to 9.4 inches, but with wheels of 20 inches or more and road-biased tires, it’s not meant for going off-road.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Exceptional handling and performance for an SUV
- High-quality, highly customizable interior
- Broad engine lineup, including powerful hybrids
- Strong brand prestige and build quality
Cons:
- High starting price
- Expensive options
- No third row available
- Efficiency trails some rivals
Verdict
Porsche has kept the Cayenne up to date, and it remains one of the most fun-to-drive SUVs out there, even in the base trims, with blistering top trims posting impressive power and performance figures. It’s best enjoyed as a Cayenne S with the V8 engine. Negatives remain a high base price, expensive options, mediocre efficiency, and limited cargo space, but the Cayenne still delivers on the Porsche promise, despite being an SUV.
