Overview
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan full-size electric luxury sedan serves as the brand’s electric flagship, aimed at buyers who want the quiet, cushioned feel of a large luxury car with an EV powertrain. In non-AMG form, the lineup consists of the rear-wheel-drive EQS 450+, the all-wheel-drive EQS 450 4Matic (both with 335 hp), and the 516-hp EQS 580 4Matic.Â
AMG versions are part of the broader EQS family, but they are reviewed separately. The EQS leans heavily into comfort, long-distance usability, and in-cabin tech, with a smooth ride, generous standard equipment, and a long driving range.

What’s New for 2025
The 2025 EQS Sedan gets a larger 118-kWh battery, updated regenerative braking software, a revised front with the traditional 3-bar S-Class grille design and Mercedes standing star on the hood, and a standard AMG Line front bumper.
Inside, Mercedes adds chrome accents for the B-pillar HVAC vents, front headrest pillows, and upgraded rear passenger cushions with contrast stitching and Nappa leather piping. A smartphone-based digital vehicle key is now standard, along with a front center airbag and soft-close doors.

Exterior
The EQS still looks like an EV-first luxury sedan, with a rounded, highly aerodynamic shape and a cab-forward profile that favors efficiency over traditional long-hood proportions. For 2025, the front end looks a bit more familiar to Mercedes buyers thanks to the 3-bar grille treatment and the upright hood ornament that recall S-Classes from the past.
Standard rear-axle steering helps make this 207-inch sedan easier to place in tight spaces, and the hatchback-style rear opening adds useful practicality that many traditional luxury sedans still lack.

Interior
Inside, the EQS focuses on noise isolation, screen-heavy design, and high-end comfort. The standard Hyperscreen stretches across the dash as a three-display setup under one glass panel, and even the base car comes well equipped with items such as augmented-reality navigation, Burmester audio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ambient lighting, adaptive cruise control, and a panoramic roof. The flat floor and long wheelbase help open up the cabin, while the large rear hatch improves cargo flexibility compared with a traditional trunk.

Price Range and Best Value Trim
| Trim Level | Price |
| EQS 450+ | $104,400 |
| EQS 450 4Matic | $107,400 |
| EQS 580 4Matic | $127,350 |
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan’s price range spans three trims, but the EQS 450 4Matic is the best value because it adds all-wheel drive and a major torque bump over the RWD EQS 450+ for just a modest price increase, while still undercutting the EQS 580 by a wide margin. It keeps the same 355-hp output as the 450+, brings a stronger 590 lb-ft combined figure, and still posts a healthy 367-mile EPA range. That makes it the sweet spot if price, features, and usable performance matter more than chasing the top trim.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Exceptionally quiet and comfortable ride quality
- Impressive range, especially in EQS 450+ form
- Standard cabin tech and luxury equipment feel properly flagship-grade
- Hatchback design adds real-world practicality compared to traditional luxury sedans
Cons:
- Styling still feels too rounded for some luxury sedan buyers
- Brake feel remains less natural than the rest of the car
- Rear seat experience doesn’t feel as special as the exterior size suggests
- Infotainment system can feel overwhelming due to the sheer number of menus and features
Verdict
The 2025 Mercedes-Benz EQS Sedan succeeds best as a relaxed, high-tech electric luxury cruiser. Its strongest traits are cabin refinement, road-trip-friendly range, and the kind of hushed ride buyers expect from a top-tier Mercedes sedan.Â
It doesn’t feel especially sporty, and it still does not quite deliver the visual presence or rear-seat occasion of an S-Class equivalent, but the non-AMG lineup makes a strong case for buyers who value comfort first. Among the three trims covered here, the EQS 450 4Matic stands out as the one to get.
