Overview
The 2025 Genesis GV70 is a compact luxury SUV that offers three distinct powertrains. The 2.5T uses a turbocharged 2.5-liter 4-cylinder producing 300 hp and 311 lb-ft. The 3.5T Sport steps up to a twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 with 375 hp and 391 lb-ft. Both gas models pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
The Electrified GV70 uses dual electric motors to deliver 429 hp, or 483 hp in Boost mode, and provides an estimated 236 miles of range. Each version seats five. It competes with the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Audi Q5, while offering more standard features and a longer warranty at a lower starting price.

What’s New for 2025?
The 2025 GV70 carries into the new model year with minimal changes. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now come standard across all trims, replacing the previous wired setup. The Electrified GV70 expands its availability to 37 states, up from 23 in 2024, and adds Genesis Connected Services for remote vehicle access. Powertrains, feature packages, and design remain unchanged. Genesis discontinues Cardiff Green and Brunswick Green, replacing them with Storr Green, which also comes in a matte finish. Matterhorn White Matte and Makalu Gray Matte (below) join the color palette. A more extensive update is expected for 2026, including revised styling and a larger cabin display.

Exterior
The Genesis GV70 features the brand’s Crest Grille, framed by slim quad LED headlamps that give it a distinct identity in the segment. Standard models ride on 19-inch wheels, while higher trims offer 21-inch alloys and a more aggressive front fascia. The Electrified GV70 adopts a closed-off grille design specific to Genesis EVs. Select trims offer two-tone exterior schemes for added personalization, along with 20-inch wheels. Its proportions lean athletic, with a coupe-like roofline that tapers toward the rear. The design strikes a careful balance between refinement and sportiness without leaning too far in either direction.

The Advanced package upgrades to leather seating, a Lexicon audio system, and a heated steering wheel. The 3.5T Sport Prestige adds a limited-slip differential, suede trim, carbon fiber accents, heated rear seats, and a head-up display. Cargo capacity measures 28.7 cu-ft behind the rear seats and expands to 56.5 cu-ft when they fold.

- Lower starting price than BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Audi Q5
Cons:
- Rotary infotainment controller feels less intuitive than a touchscreen

Verdict
The GV70 delivers strong value in the compact luxury SUV segment. The 2.5T starts at $45,700 and undercuts key German rivals while offering 300 hp, standard AWD, and features that often cost extra elsewhere. The 3.5T Sport increases output to 375 hp and adds performance-focused hardware such as an available limited-slip differential.Â
The Electrified GV70 produces up to 429 hp and supports fast charging, reaching high charge levels in about 18 minutes, though its 236-mile range is modest by current EV standards. Genesis backs the lineup with a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty that few competitors match.Â
The GV70 gives up some ground in cargo space and infotainment usability, but for buyers focused on features, performance options, and long-term coverage, it remains a compelling choice.
