Overview
The 2027 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and Grand Sport are the latest variations on America’s affordable sports-car recipe, which delivers supercar speed and ability at a starting price of only $71,000. It’s upgraded with a brand-new 535-hp 6.7-liter V8 this year, and sees the revival of the Grand Sport nameplate and the 721-hp Grand Sport X, which replaces the E-Ray and gets to 60 MPH in 2.4 seconds. Yet it remains an everyday-usable sports car with a trunk and a frunk, despite its supercar performance and attainable price point.

What’s New for 2027
The 2027 Corvette Stingray gets a Grand Sport variant and an all-new engine. The naturally aspirated LS6 6.7-liter pushrod V8 (below left) replaces the Stingray’s old LT2 6.2-liter V8 and improves outputs from 490-495 hp and 465-470 lb-ft to 535 hp and 520 lb-ft, cutting the 0-60 sprint to 2.8 seconds. The available Z52 Performance package now comes with Michelin Pilot Sport S5 tires. The Admiral Blue paint color (above and below center) also returns.
The more track-focused Grand Sport name returns to the Corvette lineup, using the same engine (above and below). It gets the Z06’s wider body and will be available with upgrades such as carbon-ceramic brakes and a carbon aero package. Launch Edition cars have styling differences to set them apart from later models.
The upcoming Grand Sport X effectively replaces the E-Ray and comes with the new LS6 engine and the hybrid setup with the 186-hp front electric motor from the ZR1X to provide eAWD and a combined 721 hp.
The 2027 Chevrolet Corvette’s price increases slightly to account for the improvements, but starts at only $1,000 more than before.

Exterior
The exterior styling of the Stingray hasn’t changed, and it still has those unmistakable mid-engine proportions and broad, flat stance. In fact, the regular Stingray still runs on the exact same set of staggered 19/20-inch wheels front/rear. The Grand Sport gets the Z06’s widebody styling, with 20/21-inch wheels, while carbon-fiber wheels are optional. The Convertible’s power-retractable hardtop can be operated at up to 30 MPH.

Interior
The cabin was completely redesigned last year and carries over, with premium materials, a 14.0-inch digital gauge cluster, and a cockpit-style layout that tilts the 12.7-inch touchscreen toward the driver. There is a host of available color schemes. You have to spec up to our recommended 2LT trim for heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, 14-speaker Bose audio, a wireless charging pad, and a head-up display.

Price Range and Best Value Trim
Both Stingray and Grand Sport are available in three trim levels, with either a coupe or convertible body style, and an optional Z51 Performance package for enhanced track capability.
| Configuration | Trim | Price |
| Base Trim | Stingray 1LT Coupe | $71,000 |
| Top Trim | Grand Sport 3LT Convertible | $104,750 |
| Best Value | Stingray 2LT Coupe | $78,100 |
The Stingray 2LT Coupe is still the best value, especially now with its new engine, providing a 2.8-second 0-60 sprint, 14-speaker Bose audio, heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a HUD, a wireless charging pad, and more for under $80K. You can add the $5,395 Z51 Performance package and still come out cheaper than the cheapest 1LT Grand Sport Coupe.

Verdict
The Corvette reinvents itself with a brand-new engine that adds more performance, while expanding the range with the new Grand Sport and rebirthed E-Ray in the shape of the Grand Sport X. It’s incredible value at $72K, but the best deal is the 2LT Coupe at $78K, giving you the core Corvette experience with the new engine and all the most important features. America’s best everyday sports car has just received a new lease on life and is better than ever.
