The 2026 Mazda CX-90 in a Nutshell

Mazda’s upmarket ambitions might not have panned out in the ’90s, but it’s safe to say that it’s in full swing now. The CX-90 is one of the models that helped establish the brand’s aspirations, and it impressed critics when it was first launched.

The CX-90 was introduced in April 2023 for the 2024 model year. Since then, a series of improvements have been made to address the shortcomings of the initial models. It is yet to be facelifted, but there are a couple of trim adjustments and feature additions for the 2026 models.

2026 Mazda CX-90 Lease Deals for March

Mazda has lease deals for both the ICE and plug-in hybrid versions of the CX-90. The models offered with special offers are the Select and Preferred PHEV. For those looking for a low monthly rate on a midsize crossover, the good news is that both offers are under $300 per month.

The CX-90 Select goes for $279 for 36 months with $6,329 due at signing. Meanwhile, the Preferred PHEV is at $299 for 36 months with $8,103 due at signing. It’s a little more than last month’s offers; previous deals were just for 33 months. Mileage is limited to 10,000 per year, and it’s $0.15 per mile beyond that. This offer is valid until March 31, 2026.

2026 Mazda CX-90 Highlights

For the 2026 CX-90, prices range from $38,800 to $57,370. CX-90 PHEVs have higher base prices of $50,495 to $58,500. ICE model trim levels are Select, Preferred, Premium Sport, Premium Plus, S Premium Sport, and S Premium Plus, while the PHEVs have a simpler lineup with Preferred, Premium Sport, and Premium Plus.

For standard equipment, all come with all-wheel drive, i-Activesense advanced driver assists, wireless charging, power-adjustable front seats, widescreen infotainment, and, new for 2026, Amazon Alexa built-in. PHEV models come with a sunroof regardless of the trim selected.

Mazda offers two output levels for its 3.3-liter inline-six turbo, depending on the trim chosen. From Select to Premium Plus, it puts out 280 hp, while S Premium Sport and S Premium Plus bump that up to 340 hp. For PHEVs, it’s a 2.5-liter engine paired with a single electric motor for a combined output of 323 hp.

Final Thoughts

It looks like a premium product, and it feels like it, too. The Mazda CX-90 is, in some ways, a viable alternative to luxury European offerings. And while it doesn’t have a prestige badge, the advantage is that it undercuts similarly sized competitors by a good margin. All things considered, the CX-90 punches above its weight, and the improvements for 2026, along with reasonably priced lease deals, make it worth a second look.
