The 2026 GMC Yukon in a Nutshell

It’s easy to dismiss the GMC Yukon as a fancy Chevrolet Tahoe, but over the years, it’s carved out its own personality. That’s quite the feat given that it’s sandwiched between the less expensive Tahoe and the more aspirational Cadillac Escalade. It’s the happy middle that can serve both ends of GM’s full-size SUV family.

Introduced in late 1991 for the ’92 model year with just two doors, it added an extra pair in 1995. Now in its fifth generation, it continues to be a popular choice in the large SUV class, and the 2025 model year facelift did it a lot of favors. As for 2026, changes are minor given that it’s fresh off an update.

2026 GMC Yukon Lease Deals for September

GMC has a national lease offer for its second-largest SUV, and it’s specific to the entry-level (but well-equipped) Elevation model equipped with four-wheel drive. That said, lease deals local to your area are also available, and you can inquire about those rates via your nearest GMC dealer.

With that, the national offer goes for $899 for 36 months with $9,869 due at signing. Some states do have offers for $849 for 36 months for the same trim, but with a higher due-at-signing price of $11,409. Regardless, it’s 10,000 miles per year and $0.25 for every mile exceeded. These offers are valid until September 30, 2026.

2026 GMC Yukon Highlights

The 2026 GMC Yukon has four trims available with base prices ranging from $69,600 to $103,900, at least for the standard wheelbase models. The five trims available are Elevation, the off-road-oriented AT4 and AT4 Ultimate, and the more luxurious Denali and Denali Ultimate.

Standard equipment includes advanced driver assists, power tailgate, heated front and rear outboard seats, heated steering wheel, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A limited-slip differential is also standard in models equipped with four-wheel drive. For 2026, the car itself is carried over unchanged, but GMC revised the options packages to create better value.

Standard in the Elevation and AT4 is the 5.3-liter V8 with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. The 6.2-liter V8 making 420 hp and 460 lb-ft is optional in the AT4, and is the standard engine in the AT4 Ultimate, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. That said, the inline-six 3.0-liter Duramax diesel can be specified for all trims, and that one makes 305 hp and 495 lb-ft.

Final Thoughts

It’s not the most affordable full-size SUV to buy or lease, but the GMC Yukon has a lot going for it nonetheless. If you spec it right, it might even be better value than a fully-loaded Tahoe, plus you get a more upscale interior ambiance and a mostly different exterior. There’s no doubting its capabilities, either, and it’s heaps less expensive than a Cadillac Escalade. We say check it out, as it might be the sweet spot if you’re looking at the GM full-size SUV trio.
