The 2026 GMC Yukon in a Nutshell

The Yukon may be the middle child of GM’s full-size SUV trio, but it’s safe to say that it’s not overshadowed by the Chevrolet Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade. If anything, it bridges those two models perfectly, something it’s been doing quite well since the 2000s.

Now in its fifth generation, the Yukon received a full model change in 2020 for the 2021 model year. It was then given a facelift in mid-2024 together with its siblings, benefitting from several technical updates to keep it bang up to date. As it’s fresh off a facelift, there aren’t many changes to report for the 2026 model.

2026 GMC Yukon Lease Deals for January

Just like last month, it’s the entry-level Elevation trim that’s offered with a promo this January. The good news is, it’s the 4WD version that’s being leased at special rates, so anyone planning any trips off the beaten path could get a deal here.

This month, the Yukon Elevate 4WD goes for $799 for 36 months, which is $100 less than last month’s lease deal. However, due-at-signing prices are higher at $12,269. For comparison, a Jeep Grand Wagoneer 4×4 is at $898 per month, but only requires a downpayment of $3,999. As always, mileage is limited to 10,000 per year, and excess mileage charges are at $0.25 per mile. Offer is valid until February 2, 2026.

2026 GMC Yukon Highlights

Not including the stretched-out XL models, the Yukon is available in five trims with prices ranging from $72,395 to $105,195. The five variants of the large SUV are, from lowest to highest, Elevation, AT4, AT4 Ultimate, Denali, and Denali Ultimate. All come standard with a widescreen infotainment system, wireless phone compatibility, heated seats in the first two rows plus a heated steering wheel, advanced driver assists, a power tailgate, and a crucial feature for off-roading, a limited-slip differential.

4WD is available in Elevation and Denali trims, while standard on AT4, AT4 Ultimate, and Denali Ultimate. Denali models add a head-up display, power sliding center console, and magnetic ride control, while the AT4 comes with a unique, off-road-oriented upgrade, such as all-terrain tires, skid plates, plus front and rear bumpers with improved approach and departure angles. Ultimate versions of both AT4 and Denali fit most options as standard, such as air suspension, panoramic sunroof, an 18-speaker Bose Centerpoint sound system, and SuperCruise.

The base engine for Elevation and AT4 is the tried-and-tested 5.3-liter V8 with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. Denali, AT4 Ultimate, and Denali Ultimate trims are automatically upgraded to the 6.2-liter V8 that packs 420 hp and 460 lb-ft. That same engine is optional on the AT4 as well. Also, the 3.0-liter straight-six Duramax diesel with 305 hp and 495 lb-ft can be specified on all trims.

Final Thoughts

Can’t choose between a Tahoe and an Escalade? The Yukon will happily provide you with the best of both worlds. Following the 2025 refresh, GM’s full-size SUVs have more distinct personalities that further differentiate from each other. That makes the Yukon feel truly a step above the Tahoe, and it creeps closer towards Escalade territory. If you have the cash to spare, it’s worth heading towards the GMC showroom over the Chevy.
