A Best-Seller
The Urus may be printing money for Lamborghini now, but the car that made the brand hit the 10,000-unit milestone was the Gallardo. And while it was the Murciélago that brought the Italian automaker into the 2000s, the Gallardo was the one that expanded its customer base and made it bank.
Made from 2003 to 2013, it’s safe to say that the Gallardo was the first truly successful junior Lambo. Prior to that, the company struggled to sell its less expensive models, so this car really helped turn things around for the folks from Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The Backstory
When it was introduced in the U.S in 2004, the Gallardo cost about $167,000 base. The arrival of the top-down Spyder was welcome, and that one started at around $200,000. Both have held values pretty well, and Classic.com currently lists market values at about $102,000 for the early hardtops, and a little over $116,000 for the 2006 to 2007 Spyder.
However, it’s the transmission that makes all the difference if you’re buying or selling a Gallardo. The manuals easily command a much higher premium, and that’s exactly what our Bring a Trailer find has today. This 2007 example finished in orange had a particularly interesting life, as it was actually bought in Canada first before it crossed the border just this year. While we don’t know much about its life in Canada, the miles are low, and it appears cared for.
It has some upgrades, namely the Fabspeed catalytic converter bypass pipes and a Kenwood head unit. Crucially, it was optioned with the front-axle lift system, and by the looks of it in the photos, there aren’t any scuffs or scrapes under the bumper. There’s more good news, too, as it has a complete service history.

Why it’s Special
The Gallardo wasn’t just a special car for Lamborghini; it was an important and crucial addition to its range. Without it, there wouldn’t be a Huracán or a Temerario, and it helped make a junior model become a permanent fixture in the lineup. The Gallardo was also home to Lamborghini’s last-ever manual transmission.
It’s the three pedals that make this example special. There aren’t a lot of these around, as many opted for the e-Gear, and these are even rarer when mated to the Spyder body style. So if there’s anyone out there with over $200,000 to burn on a car, this is a pretty great way to spend it.
