Bill Ford, Rick Wagoner, and Tom LaSorda have a date with the President. The Chairmen and CEOs from Ford and
General Motors will sit down with the Chrysler Group President and CEO in the company of George Bush to talk about the
precarious state of the domestic auto industry. Slated for next month (likely May 18), the talks will mark the first
such joint meeting during the Bush presidency.
Likely topics of discussion will include improving ethanol infrastructure, health care and pension issues, energy
and environmental concerns, and currency exchange inequities. The word ‘bailout’ is unlikely to be uttered.
