Opel’s TwinTop is the latest in the
current wave of coupe-cabriolets/retractable hardtops to hit dealers. The Astra TwinTop debuted at the 2005 Frankfurt
Auto Show (photo at right), and production cars are rolling out in Germany this week.
Prices start at about
$28,650 in Germany, and range upward to about $36,300 for the top-line Cosmo version. The car is powered by GM’s Ecotec
four-cylinder engine family, with the most powerful unit a 200 hp, 2-liter turbo. A 1.9-liter common-rail diesel is also
offered.
