The Basics: Ford is recalling 48,990 examples of the 2015-16 Transit built between February 13, 2014, and January 13, 2016, and equipped with rear passenger seats.

The Problem: A heavy object could damage the rear seatbelt buckle and prevent it from holding the belt in place.

Injuries/Deaths: None reported.

The fix: Depending on the location of the seatbelt buckle in the vehicle, Ford will either replace or modify the necessary components once the replacement parts are available.

If you own one: Expect to hear from the manufacturer sometime this month to arrange bringing in your vehicle to have the recalled components addressed.
