BMW isn't the only one celebrating its own 90th anniversary building motorbikes. So is Atelier Ruby, that French manufacturer of jewel-like motorcycle helmets.

Ruby has just released a capsule collection of helmets marking BMW Motorrad's 90th anniversary, and we want them almost as much as a Bimmer bike itself. The Munich 90 collection includes three new designs available in three helmet styles, including the signature blue and red stripes on a white background worn by BMWs of two wheels or four on the racing circuit.

Of course, these helmets, being made by Ruby as they are, won't come cheap, with jaw-dropping prices ranging from $980 to $1,450. Of course there are more cost-effective ways to protect your noggin, but few more stylish.

Ah, these would be perfect for a Moto Guzzi V7 Racer I've been coveting.

Reminds me of Apple products. Overpriced form over function devices. Pass.

ALL street motorcycle helmets are DOT approved. If they're not SNELL approved, they ain't sh*t.

Cmon, you can buy $50 clearance helmets that are DOT approved, that doesn't mean these have the features to justify such a lofty pricetag. IMO European ECE standards are better than SNELL though. At least last generation, the SNELL testing created helmets that were fairing well in tests that would have killed the rider anyway, while being far too hard for milder survivable impacts increasing the G-load unnecessarily and limiting construction materials resulting in heavier designs.

I juts went online and it looks like good looking helmets go for $200-$500, so these are not THAT jaw dropping if you compare the prices. And it would not be like me not to point out yet again, if you own a bike....you are a thug just praying of family people to beat up.

"And it would not be like me not to point out yet again, if you own a bike....you are a thug just praying of family people to beat up." Yup, just like all truck owners are compensating for their genital size/moms that just shop, all japanese car owners love coffee can mufflers and wild body kits, all american car owners are rednecks, all european car owners are wealthy d-bags and all hybrid owners are hipsters/hippies. Any other ridiculous stereotype that's missing?

Wow, that's such a stupid comment it doesn't even justify an intelligent answer. If anyone deserves to get their a** kicked, it's you.

Quite ridiculous, as helmets are made to be thrown away every five years. And for that money, I would expect a modular featherweight carbon fiber helmet with a hud and forward and rear facing cameras and excellent comm system built in. These look like $100 basic helmets with a retro paintjob...

Any self respecting BMW rider wouldn't be caught dead in a non full face helmet.... ATGATT.....

And if you buy anything other than a full face, you'll have no jaw to drop.
