Ford has combined multiple steps into one with its commercial vehicle configurator, which allows users to choose, design and place orders for the Transit, Transit Connect, E-Series vans and F-Series Super Duty trucks.

The most interesting part of the new configurator is a fairly robust design tool. Users are able to choose paint color and wrap the vehicle, and then create their own graphics. No materials are needed – Ford provides numerous background textures, text boxes, plenty of shapes and 20 categories of images including floral, construction, plumbing and skylines. Self-created designs or images can be uploaded to the system as well.

We played around with the design tool a bit and uploaded our own image to create the Autoblog Podcast Live van you see here. Feel free to check out the configurator and make your own design.

I sure hope is has a 'family filter' built into the site. HA! Like the 'entertainers' that sponsor cars in DTM.

Dear Ford Congratulation on Uk van for the year. Thr transit custom is a spectacular van and we would definitely be interested in that 2.2 diesel which gets 40plus mpg. What a bennifit for our business. Please bring it here for the USA business like mine. I here mention you might only offer a 6 cylinder gas which would be a mistake. Speaking for my business and so many other like mine, if that gas engin is all you will offer us we just have to walk away and find some other manufacture who will give us the millage and longevity we need.

There is two V6s, including the ecoboost V6 which should be good for mid 14's out of a VAN... while giving roughly the same mpg as the 3.7L v6 if driven sanely. If you want a diesel, a I5 will be offered.

No news yet on finalized HP/TQ and fuel economy numbers for the Transit?

I would venture to say that one in five of every unconsummated \"design\" will include at least one pair of breasts.
