Leave it to a Subaru WRX to find a new way to improve the art of passing. This dash cam vid shows a white WRX pirouetting past our recording car and somehow straightening out before either sliding off the road or slamming into the car ahead. If this were a standard move in rally racing, the WRC would be bigger than NASCAR.

Like most dash cam vids, we don't know where it was shot (Russia's always a good bet) or what the circumstances were (did the driver spin on purpose or was the 360-degree slide accidental?), but the remarkable feat was caught on camera and uploaded to YouTube, preserving it for an Internet eternity. Scroll below to watch the twist yourself, and don't try this at home!

WRX drivers are the same worldwide, so it seems.

I'm not convinced this was intentional. Looks like he was driving like a fool, loss control, gained it back, and continued to drive like a fool. Makes for a cool video though.

I promise you I have done the same thing before accidentally. I landed in the opposite lane facing backwards in between two cars. I kept going like I had done it intentionally. My first time driving a RWD V8 in the rain.

I love that the WRX did not relent even after nearly crashing. Dude moves on to the next car to pass and almost bashes an SUV turning left, almost forces the car he is passing into a car stopped on the shoulder all while meeting a bus in the oncoming lane. Very interesting mindset.

Combine the typical WRX driver's mindset, combine it with the typical Russian driver's mindset, and this is what you get.

I did this once in a GTI taking a left on to an on-ramp in the snow. Not on purpose though (thanks to summer tires put on aftermarket by dealer not telling me before I bought it-was a new car). Luckily I knew how to drift otherwise I'd be dead since unlike this there was oncoming traffic!

Haha, what a jackass. He does that passing and then doesn't hesitate swing out around the next car shortly after. You'd think he would learn the first time and be more cautious.

I use Harry's Laptimer, an iPhone App. I have a Rhino mount for my iPhone that suctions to the windshield. Best app ever. Although I've never done it, I believe you can also export the data to an excel file and calculate acceleration and all. I have it connected to my OBD2 by bluetooth, so it reads all my pedal positions and vehicle data.

I've got 2, one records what's up ahead and is from a Korean company called BlackVue. It's not cheap but looks much more discrete and is just physically much better looking than the one I have pointing out back, which is a generic Chinese one with a flip down screen that cost somewhere in the $30-40 range. Quality is fine for both, the Chinese one actually has better pictures quality as it's newer.
