The Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series won't be officially unveiled until July, but Canadian forum Beyond has managed to get the inside scoop early. Canadian AMG dealers let the cat out of the bag by asking customers who have reserved one of these rockets if they'd like to enter a contest to go to the N ürburgring. With a little sleuthing, Beyond was able to uncover the plan and connect the dots from there.

The car will reportedly be let loose at the Nürburgring during the German GP, packing a 6.2-liter, 500-plus-horsepower V8. The engine comes loaded with internals taken straight from the SLS AMG supercar, and is backed by a seven-speed gearbox and locking differential. Sounds tasty, and if our time in the latest C63 AMG Coupe is anything to go on, we're sure that the Black Series will be nothing short of spectacular.

because that exactly what i wanted in a C63, more power. i'd like to point out that i'm not complaining, but hopefully something is done to the handling also

Granted the SL Black Series was just too insane for any mere mortal to control, but in contrast the CLK Black Series is one of the best handling cars made. I'd wager this'll be closer to the CLK.

Beyond.ca LOL I dont think ive ever been on a "car" site where the lack of automobile knowledge was so insanely high. And the user group was under 20 years of age and homosexual.

Who said it was right at 500hp? The article says "500-plus-horsepower".

I've been researching on the C63 as my next car purchase for awhile and even though the beastly V8 is its major selling point, the car has its flaws which I wish MB can fix (instead of pumping more power into the car) - the tire life on this car is astrocious because of the camber/suspension setup. C63 owners struggle to get 10k miles outta their tires when the exact same tires can last double on say a Mustang because the car has the tires at an angle so it's like dragging it along the pavement - gas mileage is horrendous, even a 10-20% boost to efficiency will be a great help. That or a larger fuel tank - the interior is no better than a hyundai, and the absolute worst part is the door pins. It's just terrible The black series should address these problems and more importantly, REFINE the car, not just give it more power and call it a day.
